First Live Poetry Set (Video)

Written in 2024/SEP

Thank you to That Poetry Thing at Smith’s Alternative, Canberra, for the fantastic opportunity, and thank you to my dear sister, Stacey, for filming this set for me. I absolutely loved sharing my poetry with the audience! As much as I love my poems in their written form, speaking them into existence will always convey their purest form.

I had started preparing this set in July, not knowing that by the time I performed it in September, my health would have deteriorated to the point that I urgently needed to leave Canberra. So this big personal milestone signaled the end of a chapter, but it was a beautiful way to celebrate all that I’d achieved in Canberra as an emerging artist. Many of my friends showed up to support me as well, which I am so grateful for!

About Me

I’m Jacqueline and I’m originally from Western Australia but now I live in Adelaide. I advocate for Australians living with FND, and I hope to return to live poetry performance in the future.

I made this blog because I wanted to share my poems with other people. I’m also working on longer projects, but this website is just for my smaller projects at the moment.

I hope to make a living out of writing someday which is why I’ve put the donation button on this website.
