Patience and Chrysanthemums

Written in 2024/OCT

Patience and chrysanthemums
and standing at your doorstep.
The weight of you is out of view;
the centre of my orbit.

I came to you without a map,
without a proper pretext.
I knew the die was cast,
I knew it long before the reasons.

You drew me in like oxygen
to journey through your heart,
and every cell resounded
with the healing of our past.

Your heart contained my essence
and, our separation done;
this sacred coalescence
where we lived two lives as one.

About Me

I’m Jacqueline and I’m originally from Western Australia but now I live in Adelaide. I advocate for Australians living with FND, and I hope to return to live poetry performance in the future.

I made this blog because I wanted to share my poems with other people. I’m also working on longer projects, but this website is just for my smaller projects at the moment.

I hope to make a living out of writing someday which is why I’ve put the donation button on this website.
