Thank you to Perth Poetry Club and The Moon Café for hosting my poetry! It was uncanny to think I had this opportunity exactly 6 months after my first poetry gig.
I am really proud of myself for this because my FND has become so menacing this year that I was not sure I would be able to get through my set without my speech and/or cognition becoming significantly impaired. I think the reason I didn’t have an issue with it was because I’ve memorised my poems which means I don’t need to use as much brainpower. I’m super glad I got to share my poems with relative ease, although once the set was over, I was really struggling with my symptoms again. Above all, I am really happy that the crowd enjoyed my work, and I loved reciting my poems. I love to do this!

Thank you for message and thank you again.
Your courage and strength in being able to write poetry, put your feelings down for all to hear, and be humble about it and seemingly not complain about your circumstance.
You truly are an inspiration, and I hope that life goes well for you.
Also you must have very supportive family and friends behind you and you are blessed to have them and you, in return, give them pride and joy.
Thank you again, and please keep in touch as to how you and your poetry are going.
regards Elio
